One wonders how much you can possibly say about a lens hood! In fact it's not as simple as it looks, and getting the wrong one will simply add to the amount of useless accessories in your camera bag. Firstly, you'll find one useful if you own a SLR/Digital SLR, to go on the end of your lens. There are several types including rubber ones which fold up into themselves, flower shaped ones and straight ones like this Canon EW60C. This particular lens is marketed for the EF-s 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6, the standard lens which comes with the EOS 300D. It will equally be suitable for some of the EF28-80mm and EF28-90 lenses.
