      Advantages

      Disadvantages

      The product is well made, but not as useful as i hoped

      I bought go pro wrist strap primarily for surfing. The GoPro camera is used to make a lot of surf movies, but using the surf mounts that can be bought as an accessory the camera remains fixed on the front of your surfboard and is hard to manouvere. The wrist strap allows it to be used like a handheld video or still camera whilst still providing protection from water.

      == The Casing ==

      The casing consists of a polycarbonate plastic which is extremely stron and similar to other gopro casings. The difference is that it has a different mounting type on the bottom allowing it to be attached to the wrist strap (bought as a set). The casing is well made and waterproof to 60m so could be used for diving, however the lens is round which distots underwater and i would recommend the dive casing for scubadiving.

      The wrist strap is a thick wristband which wraps around your wrist and secures using a double velcro attachment which is secure and I have experienced no issues of the camera becoming loose and at risk of being lost at sea.

      An additonal velcro strap is provided that fits over the double seal. I find this a bit poitless and it makes the strap a bit cumbersome.

      Once in position the camera case swivels around the hinge attached to the wrist strap and can be placed in position using a clip at the top of the camera.

      == Disadvantages ==

      My main problem is that once clipped in position the camera is flat to the wrist which is an awkward angle to point in the direction of things you want to film. If the clip is released it is very hard to keep the camera stable whilst sitting on a surboard and trying to concentrate on filming and waved. My suggestion would be to make the hinge stiffer so that the tilted camera stays in position better.

      Once strapped to your wrist the camera is quite bulky. Due to splashing out on quite an expensive fibreglass surfboard instead of the cheaper hard plastic ones, I get worried about the camera hitting the fbreglass and creating a dent or 'ding' when I am paddling furiously to catch a wave. I don't think this can really be improved and possibly it's better to split up trying to surf with filming.

      The casing also steams up easily and I would heavily recommend getting some anti-fog inserts to avoid this.

      == Cost ==

      The wrist housing including the wrist strap and case sells for £34.99 which compares in price to other GoPro accessories, however due to the problems described above I don't use it much and am a bit dissapointed by is usefulness.

      == Summary ==

      The product is well made, but not as useful as i hoped. Cost is a little on the expensive side and I think the mounting could be improved easily. Overall I am dissapointed with the wrist housing, however there are not any other options so it's probably still worth having.
