Advantages: Carries all he needs
Disadvantages: not sure if there are any
My husbands got a big ...............bag for his digital camera, I only have that little one I wrote about for mine, he has a larger SLR type digi camera and the zoom lens I also wrote about. So he needs a bigger bag.
The bag he has is a Lowe pro rucksack I have only just bought it for him, again the money came from the insurance, and those nice people at direct line gave us vouchers for Jessop’s. It is advertised on line at http://www.jessops.com /Store/s33270/0/Backpacks/Lowepro/Orion-Trekker-Mk ii-(Black) .aspx. Price £39.99p
I bought mine, opppps his in the shop in Aylesbury high street where I was served by a very nice young man, the staff in this shop are very nice and helpful.
This bag is a black one part of the front is grey the fabric is tough and water resistant It looks fine not unlike other small day bags.
My hubby and I are going to our local nature reserve today he will use this bag. It has 2 compartments the lower one measures internally 28 x 16.5 x 16 cm it has a removable insert that can be used to divide the lower bag. They are made of foam this is covered with a soft fabric this protects the lens from scratches and dust. Into this part of the bag he packed his zoom lens (written about earlier this month), His digital cannon SLR like camera . These zipp up nice and cosy in the lower bag we looked in the upper section of the bag it measures 28 x 16.5 x 16 cm
The upper section contains a large mesh pocket, 2 digital memory pockets, a large zipper pocket a good size for an MP3 or a mini disc player. Inside this top bag there is enough room for a waterproof jacket or a jumper , both if small and squashed down, there is room for a snack or two, or any other small camera accessories there seems plenty of space., enough room to carry his min tripod I think
On the front of the bag there are 2 zips going vertically here making two long pockets sort of check book size?
Well hubby is well loaded and he puts the bag on his back this bag has a contoured padded shoulder harness with slip knot attachment loops a detachable waist strap, there is a small carry handle at the top the back panel is a mesh covered pad.
This bag decieved me when after this short trip hubby tried to put in lots more of his essential camera equipment he found it a little smallb to comfortably carry all his gear , but then he does have a lot of stuff he likes to take . Large lenses etc so although ok for the person who does not want to take a large slr type camera and telephoto and zoom lenses. Hubby looked for larger bags but has not yet been succesfull
Lowe pro have been making bags now for 30 years after Greg low made his first frame rucksac in his garage I have several Lowe pro bags they are a reasonable price and are fairly durable…..
Overall this seems like a good bag sufficient room for a day hiking the compartments soft so his lens do not get damaged, If only he did not want to take them all with him so hey ho a hiking we will go and hubby will probably cary camera around his neck ready for use.
Summary: A small rucksac designed for camera carrying
