LittleCharlie Canon Speedlite 430EX II
... is my workhorse portably flash. I used it in conjunction with the Canon 5D body, and it s not let me down yet. It s equally at home being used directly on the camera, or being taken off and triggered with a cable or wireless trigger (you ll have to buy these though). I have used it for weddings, portraits sessions, pet photography and studio photography all with great sucess. The auto function is really excellent and in combination with the camera judges the light levels well, although it can sometimes overexpose and blow the highlights, so I tend to dial down the exposure compensation and then bump it up a little in post processing. There are a good range of th...

firefox111 Canon Speedlite 580EX
... bought the canon Speedlite 580ex about a year ago. It s compatible with all EOS Camera models produced by Canon. The flash itself comes in a well padded box with ample packaging to prevent damage during transit. In the box you get the Speedlite Flash a mount for the flash to sit on. I bought some high power rechargeable ones because the flash depending on its setting can really eat through batteries. There is also an external power source connector socket to connect to a mains power supply in the studio. Synching the flash to another can b...

Accessory flashes are one of the most important pieces of equipment in a photographer s tool bag. As is often the case it is not so easy using a flash gun at first and this particular model might be a bit of a challenge for those who are new to flash photography. Using a new flash apparatus always takes a bit of getting use to. That is where the digital camera has one of its main advantages over earlier film cameras: you can have a few goes until you get it right by checking it in the view finder and if the images look trashy you can just delete them. The Canon Spee...
