As a manufacturer, Yamaha have been listening to the opinions and suggestions of its staff and consumers a lot recently. When Yamaha released the P200 stage piano, it received good reviews, but also lots of suggestions on how to improve it. Namely, a stage paino would normally be connected to a PA system and so wouldn't need its own speakers, MIDI funtions aren't that important on a stage and 'something lighter would be better'. Yamaha listened, thought about it, and released the P80. The weighted keyboard is as near to a piano a digital instrument gets, with Yamaha's 'Graded Hammer effect' working brilliantly. ...
