Advantages: Healthy, good for your digestion

Disadvantages: Makes you poop... =)

The the most prevalent and most exquisite type of Hungarian red grapes (which is actually dark blue!) gives the juice, that is the main ingredient of many famous Hungarian red wines such as 'egri', 'budai', 'ménesi', 'szekszárdi', 'visontai' and 'villányi'.
The fruit ripens quite late, in the beginning of October. It has got large leaves which are hairy at the bottom. The bunches are also large. The grapes are round and juicy with thin skin.
The name 'Kadarka', however, refers to the red wine rather than the fruit. The Kadarka was the wine of Serbs arrived in the middle-age Hungary, escaping from the Turks. Today it’s a newly discovered, light Mediterranean wine of Hungary. It goes well with gulyás, and other Hungarian dishes based on paprika, as well as lamb, veal, macaroni and Mediterranean dishes.
Just to mention a few, Villányi Kadarka has got a woody-smoked, old maturing cellar scent and relatively light colour. It is grand daddys old school wine, oaken, foggy and long.
Szekszárdi Kadarka is a straight, correct wine with a warm scent, for sunny all-days.
Ménesi Kadarka is said to be the Wine Princess with thick consistency, creamy forest fruits dew.
People, who appreciate red wine will definitely enjoy it.

Summary: I do not drink wine, but the grapes are nice, too =)
