Advantages: Smells nice, Relieves certain illnesses, Easy to grow

Disadvantages: None

This plant is well known as a culinary herb. As a shrub, it grows around 6 foot high and has woody stems and needle like leaves. The flower itself is lilac or blue in colour.

Rosemary has a long history for improving the memory. For this reason, it was very often used in a wedding bouquet as an emblem of love and fidelity. It was also traditionally grown in gardens where the woman ruled the household. Hear! Hear! And years ago, rosemary used to be used as incense to cleanse the air in sickrooms.

Rosemary can also help to relieve certain illnesses such as:

* Improves the circulation to the brain to help memory and concentration
* Cold hands and feet
* Low blood pressure
* State of debility
* As a hair rinse to improve the scalp and encourage hair growth

The infusion of rosemary can be taken internally. An amount of 8 fl oz can be taken daily. The parts of rosemary to use are the leaves or essence oil. Boil the leaves in water for approximately 10 minutes. You can add the essence oil to bath water or use it in a diffuser.

Rosemary should *not* be used where there is a high blood pressure.
