Advantages: cheap

Disadvantages: not very juicy, pretty small

I apsolutely love fruit and strawberrys have to be one of my favourites available.

I normally buy my strawberrys from stokes as they are pretty cheap and are actually quite nice, or i go to pick your own farms where you can pick the best of the crop, and even eat a sneaky few on your way around. I decided to try sainsbury's basic strawberrys as i always believe you should try things once else you could be missing out.

When i opened the packet i could smell a slight sweet smell which was yummy, and made me feel that i wanted to gobble them down. The strawberries themselves are pretty small, not like the large juicy ones i love, and they are also actually quite hard and not awfully that juicy. I found them to be pretty bland tasting but if eaten with sugar i found it brought their sweetness out much more, but by themselves they are not the nicest strawberries around, but to be fair they are only economy not finest so to be fair you are paying for what you get.

These defently arn't the worst strawberries i have tasted but are far from the best. They would go lovely in something like a summer fruit salad or to be made into a coulis, but to be eaten just as a strawberry by itself i don't believe they are overly exciting. For the price you are paying they are not that bad.

Summary: you get what you pay for
