Advantages: Juicy and Ripe

Disadvantages: Not Very Sweet

I remembered reading a review by another Dooyoo member when I saw these on offer in Tesco actually. They're usually £3.99 for a punnet (about 400g) but at the moment they're half price at £1.99. Obviously that's a very good price for strawberries, so we snapped some up with a pot of cream for our tea.

I was very impressed with these strawberries from a visual point of view. Most of them are large, brightly coloured fruits that look really tempting. There are a few small ones in there too, which is reassuring to me. If I see too many dramatically over sized fruits in a punnet or bag then I start to worry about genetic modification (sad but true).

Taste wise I wasn't as impressed with these as I thought I was going to be. I expected them to be a juicy, sweet strawberry. Instead, they were plenty juicy when I bit into them, but they weren't as sweet as I like my strawberries to be. I didn't find them bitter at all, more a little tangy.

I would recommend these still, as in fairness I'm very hard to please where strawberries are concerned. They were all good quality fruits that were ripe and juicy on purchase. I just thought they weren't as sweet as I wanted them to be.
