... TV is my first foray into flatscreen. I ve been very spoilt with a good quality Panasonic 28" which gave a beautifully sharp picture, and I ve been nervous of the jump to a larger set as the majority of large sets give quite a pixelated picture from a standard digital signal. Panasonic TH-42PZ80B ... bought the Panasonic Viera 42 inch screen plasma television last year and I would say that it has been one of my better purchases. It is a very sexy set when wall mounted. Sleek, thin and stylish it becomes a very pleasant feature of your living room. Cost This television falls in a mid price range, retailing at between £400 and £700 depending on where you buy it and how good your haggling skills are. Appearance It comes in any colour you like as long as it`s black, but black is good. It provides a good contrast with white walls (I`m biased of course coming from Newcastle!). Pioneer PDP-LX5090 ... So you can understand why so many, including myself, decided to buy it that weekend. (Please note that when you buy the TV it is supplied as a standalone panel, so undermount or sidemount speakers and pedestal stand or wall mount accessories have to be purchased separately should you require them). So if you know anything about Plasma TVs, then you know that Pioneer stand out head and shoulders above the rest. This is part of Pioneer s ninth-generation (9G) plasma range, and has a true HD resolution of 1920x1080. Panasonic TH-42PZ80B ... this TV last year, in fact early last year and it looked the biz as soon as it came out of the box. Fortunately my supplier delivered, did all the minor assembly of stand, etc, cabled all the kit up (including my DVD and PVR) and tuned everything in. I did have to help the guy carry it in and it was heavy so definitely a two man job. The Panasonic has a marvelous picture; colours like you wouldn t believe and sound nice too. Fiddling with the many setting options does produce results but to be honest I haven t really taken the time to suss out as to what s best.
