      Very helpful

I would say there are better 50" TV's that you would get more out of your money

We got this LG Plasma TV for £599 in the colour black.
Our living room is rather big, and our sofas are quite far away from where we have the TV therefore we decided a this 50" TV would be great for the room.
The weight of the TV on its own is 27.6kg, and with the stand it is 29.9kg- either way, it took two people to move the TV to where we wanted it.
Unpacking the box, you get: the TV itself; a remote control with AAA batteries; an owner's manual with a disk; a polishing cloth; a ferrite core; a power cord; and a number of different sized screws.
It has a nice slim and shiny design to it, which is a definite plus as it looks very stylish.
It comes in with built in Freeview- which is expected nowadays as we can no longer have a TV which only has the 5 basic channels.
The claim with this TV is that it is a 600Hz which provides zero motion blur and a quick, sharp response time which is great when watching high speed programmes. (can't say i have noticed a difference from any other TV)
Also, it states that it has an intelligent sensor which automatically adjusts to the conditions of the room it is in; changing the brightness and colour of the picture to reduce any wasted energy. (it doesn't appear to do this at all, or if it does, then very slightly which goes unnoticed.)
Furthermore, the TV is HD- Ready 1080p, which gives 1920 x 1080p picture resolution, which apparently gives us up to 5 times more picture clarity than a usual TV; yet even when watching the HD channels on sky+, we rarely see a change- a big disappointment.

The TV is good in that it is a big screen and we can see it easily, it looks very stylish and goes well with the style of our living room; therefore it is a TV we can watch fine.
However, the features such as the intelligent sensor etc are a disappointment, coinciding with the major issue of how much the TV actually reflects! It is literally like looking in a mirror- which is especially worse when trying to watch something such as a movie which has a lot of dark scenes in it.
