NEC Plasmasync 42PD1Whether hovering above wires, mounted as a massive multiple-screen display, or positioned near the floor, the PlasmaSync's sleek profile and sophisticated design blend in well with most any public environment - even art galleries and boutiques. The new PlasmaSync is a versatile performer. Place it wherever you need to communicate with lots of people. Positioning four PlasmaSync monitors into a multi-screen system is a snap thanks to the built-in screen dividing function, which automatically divides the image across four screens and enlarges each image section to fill the screen area. What's more, PlasmaSync's ultra-thin 11.4-cm profile saves space, especially compared with a typical CRT-monitor multiple-screen display. With an external unit for dividing images, the number of PlasmaSync monitors can be increased to nine, 16 or even more. The PlasmaSync 42PD1 boasts the industry's smallest frame at a mere 3.25-cm wide. Besides contributing to the sleek look of the monitor, the narrow frame minimizes visual interference in multiple-screen setups. The PlasmaSync 42PD1 incorporates the industry's first DVI input terminal, enabling direct digital input of RGB signals. This innovation eliminates the need for ultra fine picture adjustments and delivers clear, high-quality image output with virtually no flicker or jitter. In addition, the DVI cable is thin, and can be extended five meters without any data disturbance. The PlasmaSync 42PD1 has a special port to house computers developed especially for it by various manufacturers and SIers. For example, the Plasma Engine System fits snugly into the back of the monitor - out of sight and out of the way. There's no need to trouble with long cables or worry about where to place your PC. Moreover, because space is used more effectively, a wider range of stylish layouts is possible. Connecting the PlasmaSync 42PD1 to a PC or other peripherals via the RS-232C terminal enables control of many monitor functions from the remote computer, including on/off, input signal switching and monitor adjustments such as brightness and control of the multi-system setup. In addition, the PlasmaSync 42PD1 has a self-diagnostic mode that makes it possible to check the monitor through peripherals connected with the RS-232C. Compatibility and flexibility are important considerations in the selection of a monitor. With its wide array of connection and mounting options, the PlasmaSync 42PD1 adapts easily to virtually any public display situation. Not only can a wide range of sources be connected, but all types of images will be displayed to their full potential. More NEC Plasma TV
