My husband and i looked around for ages for a television that we could both agree on. i dont beleive in paying over the odds for technology but for my husband the bigger the better. we went round currys and stumbled across the samsung 50 +1. The first thing we liked about the television was the extremely narrow border around the screen it enables you to get more picture in less space. due to an accident a few weeks after we bought the tele we found out that the front screen is crackable but does not shatter, which for us having children was invaluable. When we got the tele back from repair we were really pleased. the tele is so very simple to change to 3d you only have on button on the remote to press, no wires to unplug etc. with regard to wires etc i was really pleased that when mounted on the glass stand it was able to spin around, this has helped us alot when needing access to the HDMI cables for changing games consoles which are located on the right hand side of the television at the side about 3inches from the bottom. its also useful to know that all the manual buttons are actually touch screen buttons located at the bottom front left screen of the tele. i would definately make sure you have it on a very sturdy base, although you only need the depth of the base which is about 8" i like mine on a deeper surface as it can wobble slightly.
The television also has an automatic turn off mode so if there has been no activity on the television for a required length of time it will count you down to stand by mode

Summary: great television for the price we paid
