The toy has a removable roof, front windscreen and has 2 doors that open and shut but they are quite delicate because the one on the side is a sliding door.Inside the ambulance everything is very detailed and has clip on bandages, drip and oxygen it has 3 people but because of the brand isn't british the paramedics have orange uniform and I feel it makes it less authentic. It has blue flashing lights that you can turn on and turn off automaticaly. You set it up by putting all the equipment in place and your ready to play. It has a bike and a child and the game is for the ambulance to help the small child. Although with all playmobil toys the parts are very small so can get lost or go up the hoover! and need lots of supervision because of the tiny pieces I feel its best to have a seperate box for them. The people fit in the seats perfectly and the car can be pushed around easily on any floor surface or carpet. I paid £25 and feel this a resonable price because it comes with lots of objects to look at and explore and can be packed away by putting everything in the car itself so it looks neat and tidy
My two sons have whiled away many an hour playing with playmobile. We bought the hospital as a Christmas present and then bought the ambulance as part of a following birthday present.
The ambulance also comes with 2 paramedics and a child, bicycle, medical bags and equipment, fire extinguisher and a collapsible stretcher on wheels.
The two paramedics have removable hair, orange jackets and a medical bag. They both fit into the front of the ambulance.
The child comes with a small bicycle which he can be attached to, he doesn't have a perfect fit which can frustrate a picky child. Once the paramedics have decided the child needs to be take to hospital they can attach a medical drip to his arm and place him on the stretcher. The boy can be strapped in an then rolled into the back of the ambulance.
The top comes of the vehicle so little hands can get in and make sure all is well with the passenger. Once batteries have been fitted (they are not supplied) a button can be pressed and blue lights come on. It might have been a little more fun if it also came with an emergency siren.
The child is safely delivered into the hands of Darth Vader and cheeky monkey (supplied by child's imagination and toy box). Then and only then does the fun really begin!
A toy we love, and come back to play with time and time again.
My children just adore playmobil stuff and I have to agree that it was very well made and thought out.
Recently my daughter was going into hospital and we wanted to get her something that was compactr enough to take with her but had lots of interesting things to keep her busy and that is exactly what the playmobil ambulance did.
I bought it from Toys R Us as they had a special offer on that if you spent over £25 on Playmobil products you got a small set worth £5.99 free. So the ambulance was £27.99 and we got a little girl with pram set free.
The box its self looked quite big but the Ambulance is a decent size, L35 x W12 x D24cm to be precise, but I was amazed at the amount of things that they can squeeze into it.
It comes with 2 paramedics, a child and a bike. The peoples hair etc is removable so you can have fun swapping them around. The siren sounds and it has flashing lights (be warned though there is no off switch and sirens blaze for about 3 minutes). The roof can come off and the rear and side doors can be opened easily even by little hands. I love the fact that the front windscreen is on a hinge so you can open it to put the driver in easily preventing a child getting frustrated.
Inside there is lots of medical equipment including, a medical bag, a fire extinguisher, a drip, an oxygen canister and a computer.
My favourite piece of this set is the stretcher on wheels which is collapable.
Everything in this set is very authentic and allows great use of the imagination and provides hours of adventurous play.
We also have the playmobil take along dolls house and the hospital so it all works really well together.
I would highly recommend this and all the playmobil collection.
