To say that i like unicorns is an understatement. More true would be that i LOVE unicorns. Or better still, they give me the horn! (sorry, mum). That is why with the approaching of my younger sister's 4th birthday, towards the end of last month, i set about finding her the perfect unicorn based present. After months of trawling the net, and after discovering to my complete dismay, that unicorns are in fact mythical animals, and as a result that there is no such thing as a unicorn safari, i decided to buy her a unicorn toy instead. And after more months of trawling, i decided on the Play Mobil Princess with Unicorn.
And a good decision it proved to be. Upon opening her gift i had the satisfaction of watching her face light before performing an excited little jig. So, suffice it to say, the toy surely rates well amongst its primary audience, and for only £4.99, you cant go wrong.
The toy itself is a sturdy one, so theres no need to worry about it breaking. A point that is backed up by the fact that a good month on, the toy is still in one peice. An impressive feat in the hand of a toddler who is a well known breaker, already disposing of two Furby's, a Baby All Gone and even a Stretch Arm-Strong, in her short career as a toy player.
As far as enjoyment goes, the toy delvered here too. The Princess herself has three movable joints (torso and both arms) and the Unicorn has a rotating head. The princess is also equipped with a hairbrush for caring for the Unicorns mane (even though it is set plastic and thus un-brush able. Bewildering to me, but hey, my sister didn't seem to mind as she juantily styled the unstyleable hair). A fun toy for sure. However, one that is made much more enjoyable by having more Playmobil for Unicorn and Princess based interactions. Nevertheless, a toy i highly recommend.
