Advantages: Well made

Disadvantages: expensive, only the mouth moves, limited play value

This item cannot be bought in the shops, it has to be ordered from the playmobil website.

The only downside to this is that you need to pay postage and packing and this can be up to £6 however if you order over £50 the postage and packing is free so you can stock up for the year.

This whale is actually quite expensive for what he is at £9.50. We bought it as part of the zoo set my daughter had for christmas about 4 years ago and even then it was £7 which was still expensive compared to the other models.

The construction is very solid - the mouth opens and closes but there is no question of it ever getting loose or feeling as though it will break off.

It is quite big - not surprising for a killer whale- at about 5 inches so you are getting what you pay for. However unless you have a child who is obsessed with killer whales I would say that your money is probably best spent on other items in the range. This has limited play value.
