SNK vs Capcom: SVC Chaos (PS2):
... I could never claim to have witnessed one, recent history suggests that board meetings concerning the creative direction of SNK Playmore s new games are probably not all that strenuous. Their beat em ups are testament to a remarkably conservative approach to design, as each builds upon a solid foundation by adding a couple more characters and a new gameplay gimmick into the mix to distinguish it from the prev... King of Fighters 2000/2001 (PS2) ... the Sega Dreamcast was officially put to rest in the West, with it went Western exposure to ports of SNK s great 2D fighting titles. While King of Fighters 2000 and King of Fighters 2001 both hit Sega s little white box in Japan, unless you imported, there was no way for you to get your hands on them outside of Asia. However, not too long after the DC went dead, so did SNK, which became SNK Playmore, who not only released unfinished SNK games, but vowed to carry on the King of Fighters series. For some reason, Playmore are more lax when it comes to releasing the rights of it s games, and now PS2 owners can sample KOF2000 and KOF2001 on 1 DVD in this funky little pac... Metal Slug 5 (PS2) ... Metal Slug series is something of a rare anomaly in gaming terms. Whilst most old-skool franchises have seen fit to acquire 3D facelifts and employ flashy effects in order to remain in vogue for the 21st century, Metal Slug has if anything broadened its cult following by doing the exact opposite – steadfastly remaining the same. Whether you play the first or the fifth instalment, little has been discernibly altered in the mad-cap retro shooters blueprint. Fans will know what they are getting, but can number five still raise a smile or is the joke wearing a little thin? Metal Slug 5 (MS5) is the third of its lineage to appear on the PlayStation2, having been given a s... Read the full review: The Slug Doesn't Show It's Mettle by tom1clare |

Metal Slug 5 (PS2) ... the title that Dooyoo have set up with this game you actually get both version 4 and 5 of the Metal Slug series so that’s two games in one which should make it excellent value and while this is undoubtedly a good game it is not the greatest shoot em up you will find on the market. This is a two dimensional game where you battle you way through the various levels destroying he numbers of enemies. You can choose from any one of four characters to play as however as they all handle exactly the same there really is not that much choice to be had. The important thing with this game is to take advantage of the various tank like vehicles or “slugs” in the game that pro... Read the full review: Slug U Like by sympatic |
