Something you might not know about me, guys - I like planes. No, not to the extent that I would be willing to spend six months in a Greek prison just for a couple of snapshots of an F-16 in my Kodak fun camera, but I freely admit to being an aviation enthusiast. In particular, I like fighters and fast combat aircraft. I'm a wee bit spoiled in my love of combat aircraft, as it just so happens I live only ten miles away from RAF Leuchars, Britain's main fighter base, which is situated on the Eden estuary across in Fife, right next to St.Andrew's, and I can occasionally drive over there and sit at the end of the runway watching the afterburners light, and ... I've always been a pretty big fan of fighter jets. Heck, at one point when I was younger I even considered joining the US Air Force. That was about 12 years ago and now the thought of becoming a pawn for the government just doesn't excite me as much as it did when I was a teen. However, I still do get giddy at the site of an F-16 Falcon. Damn that is one cool looking plane. Despite no ... Read the complete review

I'm a big fan of Flight Sims, there is something ultimately satisfying about learning what all the buttons on your keyboard do in respect to launching missiles, releasing landing gear and what not. So I'm always a little bit dubious when it comes to playing a flight sim on a console. I mean that can't be a fully immersive experience can it? Surely not. Well actually I think it can. Not all the Ace Combat series have been as good as this, but I can safely say 2 and 4 seem to have managed it. So this is what you'd be playing Ace Combat:Distant Thunder. Or Ace Combat 4. AC4 is a very good flight sim on the whole. A delightful story unfolds ... Read the complete review

Well what can i say ace combat 4 is a great fighter jet game.It has great control and graphics enabling you to have a first person view, actualy sitting in the cockpit so u can see all the controls and look arond you and third person view.Very detailed jets using actual real life counterparts e.g. f117's (stealh bomber's).The game play is a bit tricky at first but once u get used to the controls and all of the display's bar the fact that your not putting your body through g force you actualy feel like your flying a fighter jet.Another nice point about the game is that the further you progress through the game you can buy more fighter jets with money you earn buy ... It lands on the PlayStation 2 the fourth chapter of famous saga Ace Combat: Ace Combat Distant Thunder. Obviously the juice of the game has remained the same, a fighter is chosen, he equips him and he departs in flight to devastate the enemies. Also the philosophy at the base of the game has been tied up to that of his predecessors with the usual formulation arcade that it will perhaps make to vex who prefers war an experience more detailed. The boys of the Namco have exploited very well the potentialities of the mythical console Sony. An aspect this that is noticed since the first missions. The panoramas offered by the game are unique; misty valleys surrounded from ... Read the complete review
