Advantages: Amazing graphics for the PS2
Disadvantages: Short and repetitive
Gun porn. There, that about sums things up. Have I hit my 150 word limt yet?
You play a Black Ops soldier sent in to eastern europe on a cover mission, with the story being played in flash-forward days later in interrorgation. The plots not really that important, as it just gets in the way of wandering aroud eastern europe, pumping round after gloriously-rendered round into vehichles, people and buildings. If war looked this good, I'd be down my local recuitment office.
The game really pushes the limits of the PS2, with light and particle effects, that by todays standards look pretty avergae, but for the little black box, it really is special.
The unique selling point of this games, aside from the look is the fact that it models Hollywood shoot outs into the game. One minute you'll be wandering around and then you'll notice that you're in a room remeniscent of the shower room from The Rock, or the lobby scene in The Matrix. Everything is destructable and you can shoot windows out to spray glass on enemies to keep them distracted while to cap them in the legs. All good fun. And grenads make a realistically satisfying "thu-dumph" and make the sound muffled for a moment if you're too close. Great!
The game is pretty repetitive in parts once you get over the looks and the constant shooting, and the checkpoints are ridiculous, but that's not why you came here is it? You came here to rattle off a million rounds with a vast array of weponry and generally make a nuiscence of yourself in foriegn lands didn't you?
Just like America I guess.
