Advantages: Great graphics
Disadvantages: Other rivals.
**Introduction**
Anyone who knows me would tell you that my gaming consists of mostly Football and Basketball sims and car racing games with a couple of fighter and strategy games mixed in. Burnout 2 Point of Impact is one of the racing games which I own on the Playstation 2 after buying it as part of a 4 for £20 deal in my local Gamestation store. Although I didnt get to play it for a couple of weeks after that due to a rather acute infatuation with another racing game which was in the 4 for £20 deal. Need For Speed Carbon.
**Gameplay**
Whilst all Racing games are in some way similar they all have their different modes and this game is no different. There is a short course which you have to pass to qualify to race in a championship and unlock all the other extra features. Once you have gone through the course about learning how to use the turbo boost and also demonstrate the ability to weave through traffic at high speed you will be able to challenge yourself against your opponents or just have fun causing as much carnage as possible in the extra challenges.
I am very impressed with the variety of the gameplay as if you are not feeling like going through a whole season of racing you can simply cause as much damage as is humanly possible and in turn racking up damage totalling up to as much as $20m and in some cases even more. If you choose to race in a championship then you will ecperience the various tracks they have in the game.
**Graphics**
Given that this isnt one of the most popular racing games around I was really impressed with the quality of graphics on show in this game. They are absolutely superb and rival even the likes of Gran Turismo and Need For Speed. Particularly impressive is the way that the games graphics deal with sunshine on the track. This effect is reproduced superbly as is the movement of all the cars on the track even the traffic.
**The Life**
Many people find that they get sick of a game after completing a series of championships but this game has got a long playing life due to all the other options you can choose to do. Obviously you can play it to death but it will give you hours and hours of fun until you have reached the end. Although not easy this game is not hard to pick up as some others are.
**Overall**
This is one of the finest car games around and given that you will find it for around £5 it should be a great bargain for any racing fan. I really enjoy playing this game and have yet to get anywhere near burnout. Although not as good as Need for speed or Gran Turismo series' it is still a very well liked series.
Summary: Great game.
