... offs and races. The aspect which makes this game better than most, are the takedowns. This is when, as explained at the start of the game, you cause one of your opponents to crash. This can be done in a variety of ways and it makes the game a lot more fun. The amount of takedowns you get, will add up to win you more cars and burnout points. The more burnout points you get even more cars. There are different series of cars. You start with the compact series, but as you progress you experience other series that includ...more

Premium Review Burnout 3: Takedown (PS2): Crash and Burn Fest...A Real Stressbuster (1038 words)
by - written on 15/04/08 (Very useful, 72 readings)
Rating:

Burnout 3- Takedown The Ultimate Arcade Experience. Developed by Criterion Games and one of many great games published by Electronic Arts, its bound to be a sure thing. I first played this game at a friends house when it was first released in 2004 and my impression of it remains the same today... I love it!! A few years ago, I received a PS2 as a gift for christmas. As I am not very into console games, I used it mainly for playing DVD's. I then came across Burnout 3 , remembered how good it was and had to get my hands on it!! I have played quite a few racing games in the past and after playing Burnout I find that it seems to ...  Read the complete review

Crowned Review Takes down the Competition! (978 words)

After playing Gran Turismo for the thousandth time I realised I was getting more and more fed up with the game, running the racing line, braking sensibly for corners may have been great the first 999 times but I needed something else, something tremendous. Burnout 3 was my choice, 2 days later the game slid through my letterbox I whooped with joy and rammed it into my PlayStation 2. The game loaded quickly, and after a brief introduction to the game (which you cannot skip but I wouldn't have wanted to anyway) I was on my way on my career starting in the USA later Europe and finally the Far East! This game could not be more different to Gran Turismo, it is ...  Read the complete review

Crowned Review Burnout 3: Takedown (PS2): AT LAST, A GAME THAT REWARDS BAD DRIVING! (1957 words)
by - written on 28/04/05 (Very useful, 212 readings)
Rating:

Driving games are two a penny on the Playstation 2, there are all manner of incarnations all based along a similar theme - make it over the finishing line in the fastest time and in front of your rivals. Although I do enjoy pitting my wits against others on a virtual race track I am always looking for that game that moves the boundaries a bit, and thankfully I found such a game a few months back in the shape of Burnout 3 Takedown. EA Games have realised that not all racing game players are worried about observing the Highway Code and have built a game around that fact. Not only can you ram, shunt and scrape your opponents or other road users in Burnout 3 but it is ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review Has Burnout Burntout?... i don't think so! (271 words)
by - written on 25/01/09 (Very useful, 28 readings)
Rating:

This game is brilliant, first of all it is extremely fun for most. You can do many things on this game, racing, crashes and online/multiplayer for both. This game is great to play on your own or with others. I personally used to play this a lot with my dad and it is so much fun. Although you have a rather limited choice of tracks to race from, there is quite a lot of cars to choose from, which links to the fun of unlocking cars on single-player mode. For many children, most of the joy is from the satisfaction of unlocking better and better cars. Furthermore, most children love fast cars and fast games, and they love it even more with nitro which is very well used in ...  Read the complete review
