Advantages: A fun - interactive game where the family can take part as 1
Disadvantages: Can get a bit repetitive over time with the questions .
This can be found on my account at ciao.co.uk as well.
* What Is Buzz: The Big Quiz?
Buzz is an interactive gameshow available on playstation 2, the follow up to its hit success of a music quiz. The Big quiz tests your trivia powers with questions on movies, music, tv etc.
* What is needed to play?
You will need a suitable platform to play on, for example the playstation 2. Also, you can choose to buy a set of 4 buzzers, or use a set from the previous game. EVEN BETTER you could buy 2 sets and play with up to 8 contestants at once. Play can be enhanced with an eye toy, where you can see the players on a screen at certain parts of the game.Most importantly you need to have the best knowledge, fastest finger and sly tactics!
* Who are the characters?
There is a wide range of characters available to choose from, some of animated celebrities such as Liam Gallagher. You can also adjust their clothing, and set yourself with a buzzer noise to play when you want to buzz in, such as BEEP, EVIL LAUGH, GIRL LAUGH.
* What do the rounds involve?
The first round is called 'Point builder' a pretty bland round, where you can get your brain warmed up. This involves just seeing who gets the answers right from the multiple choice selection.
The second round is called 'Snap,' which is a little harder where you have to complete a phrase, and snap on the right picture to fill it in. This is a test of fastest finger.
The third round is called fastest finger. As you may have guessed it involves quick reactions to see who gives the answer correctly first, to get maximum points.
The fourth round, 'Pass the bomb,' is quite pointless, as the bomb goes off randomly on a contestant, and none of the contestants gain any points in this round.
The fifth round, 'Ask a friend,' involves trusting some-one else answering a question right for you and them to get the points...always funny when they get it wrong and both lose points!
The sixth round, 'Hitman,' is an average round, where whoever gets the correct answer, they can shoot the other...extremely funny when they miss and hit themself!
The seventh round, 'Point stealer,' involves sly tactics and back-stabbing, as you steal points off your so-called 'friends.'
The eighth round has the most points to gain or lose, and involves a picture gradually coming up on the screen, the first to work out what it is and buzz gains 500 points! But a bad buzz costs 500 points :(
* What is good about it?
The animation is quite good, bringing out competitiveness, with a silly prize for the winner. Who will get on the legendary high score board!? The different characters will celebrate in funny ways, either by expression or by actions, such as the football would dive on the floor and grab his knee if he lost!
* What is bad about it?
The bad is that after a while it becomes repetitive in celebrations of characters and the questions available, so I would recommend only playing this game a maximum of 3 times a week, to not ruin it.
* Value for money?
Buzz is quite good value for money, as it provides a good fun learning activity for the whole family, and well worth while getting.
Summary: The Big quiz tests your trivia powers with questions on movies, music, tv etc.
