Advantages: Good graphics, interesting concept

Disadvantages: Bit repetitive, too much of the same thing

Chaos Legion is a game for the Playstation II where you have to attack waves of enemies using different forms of weaponry.

You play the game by controlling Sieg Wahrheit, and also the chaos legion, which is lots of different creatures which support you in your fight. You can control their style which they fight in, ie, aggressive or defensive, the time of attack, and so on. You can then collect various powers in the game, which allow you to create a stronger and stronger chaos legion, thus allowing you to get further into the game.

In terms of the game play, it's easy to get into the game in my opinion, and to start playing the game. Learning how to control the chaos legion is quite fun, but after a while it does all become a bit repetitive as the basic game play doesn't really change. If makes for an interesting start to the game as you work through the levels, but then for me it lost its appeal. It is worth noting that the levels in the game do take some time to work through, as the enemies need all to be killed, which takes some considerable time.

You are able to play the game with a degree of strategy in trying to work out which elements of the chaos legion to use against which enemy, but most of the time, it appears to be irrelevant, and you can get through the game just by continuing to fire and very little strategic thought seems to be needed.

I'm not the greatest games player, so I struggle to get far in many games, but this is normally through the game being too technically difficult for me. In this game though, it was the repetitive nature that put me off the game, as it lacked the addictive power to make me play the game for just a few more minutes.

The quality of the graphics are very good, bearing in mind that this game was released onto the Playstation II, and they are good quality and interesting. The sound in the game is also very impressive, lots of very atmospheric qualities which do add to the whole game.

The game retails new currently for 16.50 pounds on Amazon, but is available for just a couple of pounds at the time of writing on sites such as Amazon and eBay if you're happy with a second hand copy. The game is rated 12+, so isn't suitable for younger children.

Overall I found this game to be reasonable fun, but it all became a bit repetitive for me, and I didn't get that far into the game because of it. However, if you can find the game for just a few pounds second hand, it's a fun enough game for a few hours. So, an average game which is worth a brief look, especially if you like this genre of games.

Summary: Very average, worthwhile if you can get it cheap!
