Advantages: Has all the features you would like and has a nice relaxing feel.

Disadvantages: Its only chess so many will find it dull.

I've had this game for years and I can still highly recommend it for anyone wanting a chess game on the PS2. The graphics are fine, the menus are simple and easy to navigate. The whole game is packaged and put together very nicely.

You create a login character and build points by winning games, what makes this better than other chess games is that you can really take your time on moves if you like. Other games usually enforce a time limit.

The music and sound effects when you make a move are very soothng and relaxing whic makes this game a nice almost theraputic breaks from life. There is also a 2 player option which is easy to use, and puzzles and teaching section. You can watch classic chess games play out, learn the theory behind chess which tells us why certain moves are better than others.

There are no fancy graphics or effects which is perfect, this is pure chess and everything needed in a compter game version. It goes for a very cheap price so I would recommend this to anyone looking for this type of game.

Summary: This is the only chess game you need.
