I had this game for ps2 about a year ago. As i have a big interest in cars and racing this game really was right up my street. For playstation2 i thought it was quite a high level game i thought the graphics was impressive and added realism to the game which made more enjoyable. The game offer tracks all over the world such as uk usa australia etc. I thought the game play was really good and felt realistic. The game in career mode was quite challenging depending on difficulty of the races. The game offers a wide range of cars from 2wd, 4wd and bonus cars. The tracks range from tarmac, snow and gravel which adds variety to the game and keeps it more interesting as each different surface offers a challenge to keep it on the road. The game has some good options for example you can set your car up to how you want suchas tires, suspension gear ratios etc. which is good because some tracks require certain set ups. The game has all the well known rally cars such as the subaru impreza wrx, evo, citreon, ford focus the list goes on. I think the only down side to the game is that you dont actually chase any cars, just a time which can get boring and repetative however this is what rally driving is about.

From the first McRae Rally game started on the ps1 to the 3rd and now the 4th game in its series, the Colin McRae rally has always been the best rally game out there.
One again Codemasters has still got it and improved it with CMR 04. It has lots of cars to use and unlock, loads of tracks from around the world, the graphics are still great and the car damage is so detailed and right on the mark you will be thinking your really racing for real.
If you get boring of not trying to wreak your car then maybe you should try to wreak it just for fun, ending in bumpers pulled off, windows smashed, bonnet flipped off, bodywork all wreak, tiers snapped off and much more. This is the only rally game you need, you don't even need to think about any of the other rally games out there.

"Two over crest, then left. No cut...". And of course reply "whatever mate. I think i will take this one at 100mph and ram straight into a tree." A satisfying thing to do when you are really annoyed at your co driver. Grrrrrr. Colin McRae had an extensive career mode. McRae 4 opens everything up, providing a huge range of gameplay options right from the start, and giving you total freedom to embark on your own rally challenge. there are now four main championship options each offering a season of eight countries. 2Wd is the begginer's competition, with its range of easy handling cars like the Ford Puma and Citreon Saxo. Then comes the 4WD with the Lancer Evolution, Colin's ex, the ford Focus and the new Citroen Xsara. In a clever move, Codemasters have included a full group B championship filled with the grunting danger-mobiles of the early to mid 80s, like the classic Audi Quattro and it's better rival, the lancia 037. Short but detailed intros just before the race give you a clear run down of the course and the weather conditions you are about to face. There is more complex relationship between car and road, with each wheel seeming to act to bumbs, hollows and other obstacles independently. The condition of the road seems to have a bigger effect to your car than in CMR3. In Finland, for example, where the tracks are often edged by chunks of larger stones, the car judders and slows when just one wheel sneaks out over the sidings. The distinctive McRae thrill,is still as alive as eer. There are tons of places where you can cut loose and put the slap-dash handling into play. The environmental detailis excellent. From tinyEnglish Villages with their quaint cottages :-) and battered road markings!, to the vast pine forest of Sweden where the sunlight reflects off the icy roads. Away from the career mode there is an extended rally mode that now lets you create your own custom rally wi
th six stages drawn from any if the eight countries (you can have a lot of fun with this) Summary: Colin McRae 4 is a game for all drivers. Smash and crash casuals will enjoy the lovely visuals (sad o's). This one is a decent sized jump over the third and will impress lovers of number 3. Rating: 9/10 Publisher and Developer:Codemasters Players:1-4

What can I say? This game is excellent. I bought the original version of the game when I owned a PSOne some years ago and found it totally addictive. I was a little concerned, as with all follow up games or films, that I was going to be disappointed by the efforts of Codemasters. NOT SO!!! I am now totally addicted to this game. Although the car handles totally different to the original game there is a definate realism adding to the overall experience. The graphics of both the playing of the game and the replays of each stage are breathtaking and the attention to detail is staggering. If you are thinking of buying this game, don't just do it, sit back and enjoy the gaming experience.
This game is better than the first and is full of goods races and time trials. This game should be a top seeling product this summer. I recommend this game to anyone seeking to buy a first class game and likes driving games with skill. This game is full of detail and has amazing graphics. There is a great selection of cars. You can be trained, race with other cars and alot more. I predict that it will sell very well. The controls and sound are clear and precise. Check it out you will be amazed.
