Conflict Desert Storm 2 (PS2)

Conflict Desert Storm 2 is a shooter for the Playstation 2 developed by Pivotal Games. The game is set in 1991 during the Gulf War and Conflict Desert Storm takes you back to Iraq and pits you against the dictator Saddam Husseins army as you attempt to put an end to his campaign taking out his military facilities and chemical weapons and so on. As this was an actual real world conflict you might think it is a bit tasteless to depict it in a video game especially so soon but the story line in the game is really quite minimal and is more focussed on the rescuing of people and the squad based gameplay. I'd forgotten how fun Conflict Desert Storm really was, looking for a decent slice of action I picked the sequel. You can play as 2 sides now the British SAS or US Delta Force both still follow the same mission patterens which was a slight setback because at first I thought I had two games ! The game is more of last time still being a 3rd person squad based shooter with tactics and strategy also playing a vital part. Back in the Iraqi desert you control a squad of four team-mates . ***Intro*** Okay it may be a little un-PC to play a game based on the events in Kuwait and Iraq considering the events unfolding there daily at the moment but the game is fun and to ease your conscience it is based around the 1991 ‘conflict’ (for some reason that was not deemed to be a war despite the all shooting and deaths incurred).
