This game like the first one known as Dark Cloud is great fun. I remember when I could not afford a playstation 2 (school years). I wanted to buy a ps2 just for the first game, anyways when I did get a ps2 I had a lot of fun on both of them but mainly this one. This second game in the series was such an improvement in every way you can imagine.
The main and first thing I noticed was the difference in graphics, before they were 3D and looked great but they moved to cellshaded in this one and I just loved it, I am an anime fan and like to draw and so this just got my attention.
The game itself has a much bigger and stronger feel to it in terms of story, it actually has a big story, where as the first one didn't seem like much was happening.
The best thing about these games is that you not only fight and advance the story but you build your own towns, it's kind of like 2 games in one, I am not much of a sim city or a sims fan but I did enjoy building the villages and towns in this game.
Unfortunatly I did not complete this game, I got right to the end of it and got stuck on the last thing you are meant to build and I think it also froze on me which was even more unfortunate but I think my PS2 was playing up after using it for so long and for so many years.
Basically if you want a bit of fun, purchase this game. Also the voice acting is great!
Dark cloud to is an adventure rpg i was hoping to play dark cloud but couldnt get it for less than £50 and im not to keen on buying second hand so i went with this one. Its a bit slow gettin started and you play as 1 of 2 charcters at various points of the game. The first you play as a young boy who repairs machines working for his grandad. The second is a princess from the future. The main aim of the game is to deafet a dark sourcer who is traveling through time changing the world to destroy periords. The animation and graphics are good and the towns that you van explore are pretty impressive. The way which you explore the field map starts of pretty boring but stick at it gets so much better. You travel to various areas of a certain map and eventually reach an end boss which are pretty impressive. Depending on how you peform and if certain condintions are met you will reciev medals that can be traded in. You have a huge amount of side quest in this game and i wont list them all as it will ruin it. But you can play a form of golf on each stage once you aqquire a putter. You can creat inventions from photos you take any where which can be anything from parts for you mech armour to items you equip or use in battle. Sell your battle photos for adecent amount opf gold. Fishing is great fun will spend hours just doing this trust me. The battles are not turn based but where you can see and attack an enemy with either your hand to hand weapon or ranged one. My favorite part of this game is the near limitless amount of weapons you can combine and power up, i spent hours leveling up my weapons and still have made the ultimate one. I have been playing this for over 100 hours and have still not completed it mainly because i love all the minigames. Slow starting but stick with it trust me.

Experience the sequel to one of the best-selling role-playing games on PlayStation 2. Dark Cloud 2 delivers a spectacular tale with new gameplay elements, including an enhanced GEORAMA, which allows you to rebuild worlds in greater detail.
