*** The following review was written in June 2004. I have left the review untouched but have placed an update at the end to cover any changes since it was written. *** The car chase. A staple ingredient in almost every action film that comes out of Hollywood these days. Yet few games have successfully managed to replicate the pure exhilaration of the chase although many have tried. Developer Reflections have come closer than most with a string of games to their credit including Destruction Derby, Driver and Driver 2 on the Playstation and Stuntman on the PS2. Driver 3 or Driv3r as it has annoyingly now been labelled, is the first ... Read the complete review

DRIV3R is the follow on game from Driver two - despite a huge amount of criticism and negative reviews this is one of my favourite games for the playstation two. You play as a cop who goes undercover to infiltrate a car gang - you then basically have to do missions with the gang of criminals and at almost the entire plot the police chase you as they do not know you are undercover. Graphics - The general graphics of the game can be pretty poor and at the best could be described as okay, even for playstation 2 standards. However, the cut-scenes are amazing and definitely worth watching - the graphics and level of detail in them is simply ... Read the complete review

The cleverly titled Driv3r is the third game in the franchise for the Playstation 2. The game has you resume the role of Officer Tanner from the first two games and in this one he is set with the task of tracking down the leaders of a crime syndicate who are stealing cars. He works with his partner Tobais Jones and the story will lead them through a series of twists and turns that find them travelling to three different cities and even become double agents. The story was not the greatest but it entertained me and kept me playing. The gameplay takes place both in and out of your car, the in car segments are pretty fun. There are a ... (Another old review, just posted up) Game Info Genre = Free Roaming Game Developer = Reflections Publisher = Atari Players = 1 player Age = 16+ --------------------------------------------------------------- One of the most wanted games of the year has finally been released. Like before you play as tanner, undercover. The story is very well done and there's some pretty dam good missions your though very hard. The last game you could walk about but now they have added the guns, so now can go on a rampage, take your M16 or your grenade launcher and do some big damage. Car will blow in to pieces big ... So, here it is, the most wanted game of Summer 2004, DRIV3R uses all the features of the previous DRIVER titles, film director, Take A Ride and the ability to steal cars in Take A Ride. But this time, reflections threw in missions which weren't all about driving. Taking the role as Tanner for the 3rd time, your job is to infiltrate a notorious car-theft gang known as South Beach. Gain their trust and respect by doing jobs for them, then call in the cops. At the start of the game, you see a cutscene that shows Tanner in a hospital and a pulse moniter shows a flatline. At the end of the game, you see the same cutscene but this time, it shows Jerico, the former ... Read the complete review
