Need For Speed - Most Wanted (PS2) ... for Speed Most Wanted is a curious change in direction for a series that s perhaps most famed for its Underground games. Given the impressive graphics and insane level of customisation available, they had a lot to shoot for in this game, and whilst it s great, some of you might be jarred a little by the change in direction. Like the previous games, you surface at a city and attempt to basically beat everyone else through a series of races, but the game opens with a cinematic where you lose your car because another competitor fixed the race so that you would lose. Burnout Revenge (PS2) ... lot of the success of the Burnout series can be attributed to the fact that they know that a lot of gamers, especially those who were perhaps turned off by the comprehensive approach of the Gran Turismo series, just want to smash into things and see the awesome damage (something the GT series discouraged). Burnout Revenge delivers enough smashes to satisfy any gamer, whilst also having enough races for those who want a straight up blast through a varied number of terrains. Simpsons - Hit And Run (PS2) ... that adapt licenses so often wind up as very pale iterations that don t do their fans nor the product itself a great service. The Simpsons: Hit and Run, however, is a very fun game if you re a fan of the show, although if you ve somehow never seen The Simpsons, I can t imagine this being much fun for you, as it has a lot of in-jokes. Still, you d have to be a feral child to have never seen The Simpsons, and I don t know anyone who doesn t like the show, so it should be fine!
