The Getaway (PS2) ... many, The Getaway was seen as a potential GTA beater, and a sign that Rockstar perhaps didn t have the exclusive foothold on violent, mission-based mayhem that they thought they did. Whilst the game did turn out to be a disappointment in this regard, it s still a solid action game that offers a very legitimate challenge, and whilst overhyped, is nevertheless impressive as a visual and visceral outing. Gran Turismo 4 (PS2) ... if the standards hadn t been set highly enough, Gran Turismo 4 somehow manages to pull out the stops and perfect a game that I thought was in itself, perfect. One of the most hyped games of the entire PS2 era, this is an outright classic and possibly the greatest racer ever made.
