I really wish I'd found a review about this before making the foolish decision to waste a fiver on it! The retail price is £9.99, and Amazon have it in stock at the minute but you can also buy it from other places. The ones that are foolish enough to stock it that is.

This is a playstation two game that's supposed to include a variety of family board games. When I bought this, I couldn't find a definitive list of what's included anywhere on the internet, so I'm going to include one here to help other people.

Family Board Games includes:

Chess
Checkers
Backgammon
Quatro
Reversi
Enigma

That's it. And they're not even good versions of these games that are included! The only one I remotely tolerate on here is connect four, sorry, 'Quatro'. It's only because I don't have another game that allows me to play it though, and I've only bothered with it a couple of times because this game is such a hassle to try and use.

The six games are set up in plain, boring colours on table tops in neutrally coloured rooms around a house. You move the pieces by using a computer mouse style pointed to click on them. To be honest, you might as well have just played these games on the internet on a computer for free in the first place.

What's so awful about this is firstly, the graphics are like something from the early nineties. They're really clumsy, badly defined and they take ages to load. What's worse is that when this game loads up, it uses an old fashioned blue strip across the screen which gradually fills as the loading process is happening. There's nothing on the screen to tell you that's what the blue bar is for, you just have to guess and wait patiently for a good three or four minutes.

This was such a huge disappointment. I don't even use it anymore, and I can't believe I feel cheated over spending £5 on a brand new PS2 game - but I do!
