Fifa is a huge football game which continues to get better year after year. This game has tried to improve the standards it sets each year and I have to admit it does this very well.
The game gives people various options and one of those is to play against the computer or a friend and when you play some people prefer the control pad to use and this helps them move players around and some prefer the analogue stick. You can decide which controls you use and what team you play with and against.
If you want a career where you manage a side such as transfers and trying to win trophies you can and this helps you win prize money. When you win money you get to unlock new kits, footballs and even stadiums as well to play in.
The game lets you pick teams from across the world and you see their rating and work out how good they are. Once you have picked a side you play with them in a season if you wish or try to win trophies. If you just want the one off game with them there is challenges you can do such as scoring so many goals within a set time or winning so many games in a row and again you unlock various totals for these feats.
You play in whatever stadium you want, set the weather and even duration of each half of football. If you want to really improve a football team you can create various players and make them appear for your team and give them fantastic characteristics to make them unbeatable at times.
As the game is designed to be football the realism is there but not totally. When you play the lower league sides you will win by a huge goal margin yet in a normal reality the lower league sides tend to be tough as they rarely get to take part in big games against big teams.
The graphics are good for some players as they do look realistic and then other players there is a lack of ideas in terms of appearance. The football shirts and stadiums I do admit look very much alike and they have done well in this area.
The game play is pretty good when you play the top sides you run around like crazy and the speed of the match is fantastic and when you player the lower league sides the speed is much slower. I wish they had more realism in score lines and how easy it was to score but this was a game back 4 years ago and it has been a favourite of mine for a while.
Every year there is a new Fifa title hitting the shelves, Fifa 07 was one which i again failed to impress me, i played the game only for about a week until the new pro evolution was released, but have gone back to it for games on the multiplayer mode with mates.
One of the new features of Fifa 07 as with all new games was the 'improved' game play, i couldn't really tell the difference in the gameplay change from any of the Fifas since Fifa 2000. The game has loads of new player animations which are quite good. But the thing i don't like in the gameplay is when you shoot every shot seems to go in with the keepers having no chance even if its really close to them, they seem to dive out of the way of the ball at times. The game also is very slow, and quite boring at times, its hard to actually take a player on at all, compared to the fast free flowing football you get from the pro evolution soccer series.
The graphics in this game are the highlight of what Fifa is good for, the players have all the official kits which look very nice, the players faces of the more well known players are very life like and the stadiums look absolutely beautiful.
The sound in the game is very good and includes songs such as Keane, the feeling and muse. The commentary in the game is very good and is from the Sky sports duo of Andy Gray and Martin Tyler, and includes some quality one liners from Andy Gray.
The game includes modes such as manager mode where you can take control of your favourite team, and manage all the signings and training etc. This is very good and has quite a depth about it. The game also includes modes such as exhibition where you can play against your mates or against the computer, the game also cups which you can play in.
The game is quite poor for its gameplay but has a very good sountrack, i don't think its worth buying the game just for that though.
Fifa 07 makes slight improvement from the previous game in the series. The game has brilliant graphics making it more realistic than ever. This is very important to hardcore gamers. The sound of the game is crisp and clear making the commentary and background songs better than ever before. Most importantly you get to play an enjoyable game of fast paced football which is great for football fans to play just before the big game or play it at a party to see who can be the champion. Last season it was the goalkeepers who were lazy but this season it's the defenders because if the opposition are attacking and you're unable to select the closest defenders you'll just have to hope they make a good tackle although this is only about a 1 in 10 chance. When about the whole of your team and half the opposition team are on the screen it starts to slow down as the game is unable to cope with it at the normal speed. In my opinion Fifa 07 has improved since last year making it a great game. 84%.
Fifa 07 on PS2 is an addictive football simulation and management game, I have played this since it first came out last year, but it does have it flaws in the game that still have not been rectified by EA, here are just a few examples of the problems.
Commentary sometimes does not reflect the action, what a shot! Unfortunately the player was heading the ball.
What a Goal! Actually went wide and out for a goal kick.
Players run the ball out for throw-ins when going across the field of play.
Substitutions sometimes are not shown showing who has come on for who for both your team and the opposition, playing in management mode only one substitute is made by the computer for the opposition
Updating transfers of players if a goalkeeper is transferred to another team and that team has a squad no free like 2 free then the goalkeeper takes that squad no (not realistic).
What has happened to all those different grounds the bit I really miss that was in previous editions, in this edition it has become boring seeing the same old grounds.
Where are the on pitch referee and his assistants?
But I have to say EA are getting better each year to make it as realistic as it possibly can and I have to say it is still probably the best footie game and well worth buying as the price tumbles.
Fifa 2007, which is manufactured by Electronic Arts, is a footballing game which is quite up to date with transfers. It also has commentary by 2 real life commentators which adds to the fun of controlling your favourite team. You can choose from Scotland to Poland, and can then take place in a quick match, or begin a season with your team. You can also enter tournaments online, and play against other gamers who are hooked just like you. Whatever game type you end up playing, you will find Fifa 2007 an enjoyable experience.
Fifa has gone back to being easy to score in ameteur mode after the near impossiblity in Fifa 06 and has concentrated more on the stadium entrance and the manager mode.
Fifa 07 is still in contention with Pro Evolution Soccer but Pro Evolution Soccer is still my fravorite football game.
However the graphics on Fifa 07 are still immense as ever and is still in touch with all the latest transfer thanks to net play.
The buttons are still the same as ever, scoring is still easy and creating players is still the best bit.
Challenges are somewhat harder than the previous Fifa.
This my conclusion on Fifa 07 its a good game and i recimmend you buy but if you have the chance to buy PES6 get that instead.
When i first got a playstation2 i got the game fifa03, my first impression of it was it was good but could be improved. Then 4 years on this game got released , my first impression of it was that its not predictible and the same thing does not always happen over and over again. A few minutes down the line after i started playing it , the game froze , maybe it was my playstation or maybe the game , im still not sure about that . My overall impression of the game is that its a great improvement from the other games before it.
Fifa 07 is a huge improvement from fifa 06. At first it's quite difficult to get used to the new passing system but once you've gotten used to it your passing will be at least 10 times better than it was on the old fifa game. The only bad thing I can say about fifa is the occasional glitches you get during gameplay. Such as goals being given though they went wide, goals being disallowed though they went in. This is more helpful to any gamers than it is a glitch unless in multi-player. The glitch is no matter how far you're from goal if the shot goes in line with the goal keepers head he can't save the shot and the goal will be given. Also this isn't really a glitch but will help any one in manager mode who needs to make a lot of money really fast, during the transfer period go onto transfers and select transfer market. While on the transfer market it will only show you the players for sale/loan in your league. Press R2 and change league to any then go to the bottom of the menu and change player status to free agent press X. All the players on the game out of contract will come on to your screen. Now go onto overall press O until the best players are on the first page. Now use all your bids on the top players, put everything up as much as you can (eg. Salary). The players will eventually sign with your team no matter how bad you are but they might not first time so go in to negotiation history and reselect them and put everything to the max again. Then immediatly put the players you brought in for sale. The players will be sold and you'll only pay there wages for 1 game, 2 at the most and then sell them for a lot more. I once made a £45million profit when Wayne Rooney was a free agent. Another thing headers on this game are a lot harder if you mistime your header by shooting too early/late the ball can go anywhere. Too early straight to the ground, too late miles over. There's 1 thing on this game and 1 thing only I think should be added to fifa 08, and thats multiplayer manager mode. Playing in a league where your teams fixed until the end isn't that fun. Knowing you can make transfers soon is a great feeling especially if you bring someone in who's awsome. Another thing could be more than 8 players in the lounge, because if you have a small number of friends then it's ok but if you have loads of friends its unfair to choose who's most important to go on the lounge and who has to be deleted to make room for a more important friend it just isn't big enough, the lounge should be made bigger.
