This Is Football? (FIFA 2006 (PS2))
Member Name: scream4bruce
Advantages: Players somewhat resemble their real-life counterparts Disadvantages: Lacks a real footballing brain A decent crowd and dodgy-looking players aside, there's a Champions League night feel to each match with Clive Tyldesley and Andy Gray providing commentary, with "Ashes" by Embrace a reminder of the MOTD Goal of the Month competition. However, the number of ways in which you can score is well limited, and whilst the passing is convincing FIFA 06 lacks a real football brain. The physics of the ball are flat and players fail to utilise space intelligently thus play fails to generate a sense of momentum despite the performance meter which was intended for this purpose. Tackling becomes dead tiresome, and as a sign of sloppiness, the goalkeeper can be seen to save the ball behind the line. Surprisingly, there's a lack of depth when it comes to setting up the formations. Unfortunately EA Sports seem to have put their efforts towards having plenty of rewards to unlock - but FIFA 06 is anything but rewarding. Summary: FIFA 06 for PlayStation 2 |
