The Fifa 2006 edition of the series was a game I picked up first day on sale. The game came with much better graphics than 2005 and also came with new controls to. Other new features in the game were a improved manager mode in the game and also the option of editing your players. The first mode I played in the game was the manager mode ... I'd say this game is a big improvement from the old fifas. It is more realistic in a lot of the ways. For instance you can now handball it and keepers sometimes drop shots. When this game came out, I thought that it was brilliant, but that wasnt until the 07 and 08 and 09, versions came out, which in comparision, this game is little league. But back then, it was the best football game around. When you play, you control every aspect of the game, from the players to the management of the team, in terms of game tatics. ... A decent crowd and dodgy-looking players aside, there's a Champions League night feel to each match with Clive Tyldesley and Andy Gray providing commentary, with "Ashes" by Embrace a reminder of the MOTD Goal of the Month competition. However, the number of ways in which you can score is well limited, and whilst the passing is convincing ... Read the complete review

Fifa 2006 is a fun football gaming experience. The match engines which have been produced are to the highest standards and the new manager mode is also a very good feature that has been introduced. Obviously, as you know there is a long standing "battle" between these two games, of which there have been many an argument in the playground or between fans at games. I myself, having played both, was more impressed with FIFA than PES. This maybe because of the authentification of players, teams etc, but the gameplay itself seems to ... Read the complete review

I loaded up FIFA 2006 with excitement. Having played 2005 to death I was looking forward to a new challenge - Hull City in the Coca Cola Championship - with of course the new lineup and kits. From that respect, I wasn't disappointed but then - that is the selling point of FIFA. The gameplay is different to previous versions - at first ... Read the complete review
