Fight Night 2004 (PS2)
Advantages: Just like the real thing
This really is the best boxing game around.
This game has a vast choice of contests and the more practise you get, the more chance you have of winning.
Play Now mode.
choose play now and get ready for a 12 round battle, you get to choose from 6 different weights and a variety of boxers in each. Then choose again for player 2 or against the computer, a good idea is to practise on the little guys !!
Then you can choose one of 3 venues. You can unlock more of these in the Career mode as you progress.
This displays your Health meter-which shows the damage your fighter can take before he gets knocked down.
This shows your energy level, the higher the energy the stronger your punches.
Round counter/clock is shown in the top of the screen.
If you get knocked down then to pick yourself up you have to align the blurred image of the ref or set the game to auto recover(much easier)
End of Fight
If the fight goes the distance then the score cards are added up to decide the winner.
Watch the low blows and other cheap shots such as headbutting, if the ref spots you he'll dock you points and if you keep doing it he will disqualify you.
Try to block your opponents shots and counter punch as these blows do more damage, remember not to throw too many as your energy levels will drop.
This is where the real test begins, here you start at the bottom and work your way up the rankings at the same time improving your boxer and earning money, if you are good enough you may get a shot at the title.
Also in this mode you get to choose who you fight, schedule your fight and then you get the training option, here you can win more points to improve your fighter even more or simply choose auto train, but this doesnt improve him as much.
There are 8 areas in which to boost your boxer
power-agility-speed-stamina-chin-body-heart and guts.
The game can be played on different levels and should give great pleasure and a whole lot of fun, especially when you see your opponents legs buckle as he heads for the canvas.
The replays alone will make you laugh and look out for the special punches to do some real damage.
Summary: A great bash em up game
