Boxing games aren't exactly flavour of the month, in fact the sport itself seems to be a continual decline, yet EA Sports always has an uncanny knack of producing highly enjoyable and addictive games for all to enjoy regardless if you are knowledgeable in that sport or not. With Fight Night Round 3 it seems they have done it again. Normally boxing games suffered from the acute case of button bashing which virtually renders them as arcade 'beat em ups' ala Street Fighter. Fight Night 2004 changed all of this by introducing 'Total Punch Control' system, this was subsequently enhanced in the follow up version , Fight Night Round 2. Rather than have each button ... Fight Night Round 3 really does bring the real boxing tern to life, from round 2 and round 1! The graphics are like so much better now with better game play, moves, sound affects and gyms and arenas where to fight. You can chose from all the greatest boxers of all time for instance Muhammad Ali to Joe Frazier to Sugar Ray Robinson to Roy Jones Jr. to Sugar Ray Leonard and much much more famous boxers! And just to play and fight with them on the game is simply fantastic, amazing, you get to actually play and fight like them, check out all there groovy moves and styles. Not only can you play as real life people but you can make up your own characters ... Read the complete review

Whether you are a fan of the noble art or not Fight Night Round 3 is a great game to play and has some great features. There is a great choice of boxing legends to choose from and you can make the matches that promoters can only dream about. In all you have three main play modes to choose from, career, one off fights and an ESPN classic mode. The controls certainly get a bit of getting used to as you use the left analogue stick to move the fighter and the right one to throw the punches so you will not need to mash loads of buttons but you will need some digital speed of movement and control to get the best from your fighter. By manipulating the stick you are ... Read the complete review

I have always been quite a big fan of boxing, and when I saw this game at just £8 pre owned I thought id give it a go. Firstly as far as I know it's the only boxing game available on the ps2 apart from the rocky game, which I have heard is no where as good, however I am yet to play on this. It was released in 2006 and there hasn't been another one since but its still just as good graphics as the newest of ps2 games. There is a few things you can do on this game, if you just want the odd fight once in a while you can just do the odd fight or if you want to start up a career then you can choose either a professional boxer and build up his career or ... Rented out this game from Tesco DVD Rentals and I am glad and happy I rented the game out.Fight Night Round 3 comes with some new features including the ability now in the game to be able to see the sweat come out of boxers mouth when you hit them! A lot of boxers in the game including legendary boxers like Muhammad Ali and current boxers like Oscar De La Hoya. I had fun playing this game but hate the camera angles in the game. You can only see the damage you are doing to your opponent in the game but you can not see your self get hit. This has spoiled the game used to be as it was a much better game to play before. They need to work on sorting this problem out ... Read the complete review
