Fighting Fury is a tough game to get hold which is a good thing as it is not very good at all, it also went under the name of Grappler Baki on an import label and is based on a manga comic.

This is a straight up fighting game and there are initially 11 fighters to choose from and also a boss man that needs to be unlocked. All of the characters are quite individual and come with their own specialist fighting techniques which utilise the martial arts. They are all well muscled in fact some seem to have muscles on top of muscles which are hiding other muscles, I guess you get my drift by now.

There are a number of modes through which you can play however Story Mode is the most satisfying. The game uses a basic four button approach for the fight controls and these are easy to get used to, the main criticism I have is that the movement is not as fluid as some of the other fight games on the market and certainly this makes the game look and feel a little dated. The end result is that the best way to win is to mash the buttons as fast as possible. The whole game plays too slow, not only are kicks telegraphed the telegrams are delivered by a postman on prozac having forty winks first. The special moves are not much better and take an age to unfold.

There are six combat arenas in which the battles take place and there is quite a dark feel to the game. It does not matter too much which arena you fight in as there is no interaction going n and nothing to make use of in your fights.

There is nothing to really recommend with this game and it is best avoided. If you do want to buy then check out Amazon where it can be picked up for £9.97.

Summary: A very poor fighting game.
