Advantages: Continues the story, new battle system

Disadvantages: A little short, lacking in CG

Final Fantasy X-2 is the only direct sequel to a game Square Enix have ever made, it's also exclusive to the Playstation 2.

Following the events of Final Fantasy X, Yuna has joined up with Rikku and a new character Payne to form the Gullwings who are Sphere Hunters. They happen across a sphere which depicts Tidus, Yuna's love interest from Final Fantasy X and Yuna is desperate to find out if she can find him. Yuna and friends must journey all around Spira with the Gullwings to uncover the mysteries of this sphere and settle the warring factions and bring peace to Spira once again!

Unlike any other Final Fantasy you get access to the airship Celcius right away, apart from a few times where the game forces you to a certain location you can go around to any of the games locations and perform missions, each mission is rated in difficulty so you will know what you are getting yourself into before you start!

The battle system is more like Final Fantasy VII than X, the battles are an active time battle system so when it is a characters move the enemies won't stop attacking, you must make your move as quick as possible, it is possible to wait till all your characters are ready and unleash a chain attack for maximum damage.

The game also introduces Dresspheres which essentially is the class system for the classic Final Fantasy titles, you can pick things like soldier, black mage, white mage, gunner and so on. This adds some depth to the combat.

Graphically this is identical to Final Fantasy X and you will visit many of the same locations and meet some of the characters from that game too. The voice acting and CG is good quality though there is noticeably less CG than most other Final Fantasys.

The game is also quite short compared to Final Fantasy X but it still clocks in at a respectable 20 hours, a good sequel.

Summary: A good sequel, must play if you liked FFX.
