I love this game. As a 1 player effort it has limited legs, unless you are a horse racing nut who loves the sport. However, get a mate around, have a beer and suddenly it has a whole new lease of life. Basically it is a first person horse racing simulation game, where you can launch into a long and glamorous career or go straight into a 2 player battle. The problem with the career is that it is too realistic! What I mean is jockeys in real life race many horses that do not come anywhere, and the winners tend to be once every so often. The best riders convert the number of rides to winners more efficiently. I do not have the time or patience to go ... Read the complete review

I've tried a number of racing games for the PS2 and none come close to this one. Initially, the game might seem quite difficult because the controls are hard to master as it relies heaving on correct timing and co-ordination of your fingers so it would be quite easy to just give up on it but trust me, once you have mastered the basics (which can all be learned in a very good tutorial) you'll enjoy it. You can play this game on your own in a story mode, on your mode arcade style or with a friend arcade style in both flat and jump races. The tutorial is very helpful and I do recomend that you go through it because, as I stated previously, the controls can be ... Read the complete review

At first, G1 Jockey 3 may seem rather boring but after winning your first race, you'll be coming back for more! The game itself is quite extensive. No race is ever the same and you are ranked each year and awards are given to those at the top of each category for horse and jockey alike. The controls are easy to get the hang of, though the skills to learn are a fun test for anyone. What more could a horse fanatic wish for? Many a horse to ride, a choice of over 15 stables to ride with and a chance to get to the top of the racing world. As good as it is, I find that there are still flaws with the game. For instance, in the action replay the horses tend to move ... Read the complete review

G1 Jockey 3 for the PlayStation 2 is the best Horse Racing Simulator game that i have played, and i have played a few of them. Other than G1 Jockey, all the other horse racing simulators have been more cartoony then anything, which isnt what i want from a game like this, i like it to be realistic looking and have a long life span of playing time, which this game has. At first the game seems difficult when learning how to play it, but once you master the controls you will not want to stop playing. The controls need to be mastered correctly due to you having to be in time with the horse itself and watching the health bar at the side. If you go to fast at the start of the ...
