Advantages: Looks fantastic, epic story, great characters, addictive gameplay

Disadvantages: uneven difficulty in places. monotonous in places

Crikey! I was anticipating this game so much when it came out a while back and I wasn't disspointed.

Quick overview time - Kratos is now the God of War, having taken over from Aeres at the end of the last game, but the Gods aren't happy and decide to strip him of his power. Queue epic revenge saga from the bald man involving copius amounts of blod and a few scattered limbs off.

The game takes everything that was great abut the last game and adds to it. More magic, better magic, more weapons, better weapons, more enemies, more outrageous situations and general mayhem. What's surprising it that even with all the added bells and whistles, it's still the same great game the original was, it's like getting an exciting new paint job on your car and a leather interior.

All the added bits, like being able to swing on your baldes of fury and usng them to traverse underhangs just adds to the sense of epic-ness. The difficulty is still a bit temeramental, and you'll find yourself miowing through levels, then hitting bits that take a dozen or so goes to master and sometimes you'll be hit by the repetetive hack and slash nature of it all, but it looks so damn good, and it so engrossing, Kratos could be venturing through Greece painting wall magnolia and it would still be this enthralling.

Buy it. Buy it now. What? Are you still here? Did you not hear me?
