When the XBOX 360 came out I saw a game called Gears of War advertised on TV and it looked brilliant. I thought I’d see if it was out for the PS2, I spotted God of War in a shop and initially passed it by as it wasn’t the title I was looking for. However a few months on I have been told about how good it is and managed to borrow it from a friend. Being married I don’t always have time to play on the console but the past couple of weeks I’ve been able to get enough time to complete God of War and thus write this review. The game starts with a scene showing you killing yourself by jumping of the highest mountain in Greece, the game is then about how you get ... Read the complete review

God of War is a brutal action paced title for the PS2, also in my opinion one of the best games on this system and of all time! This game is so majorly addictive and will draw you in with its beauty and gripping Greek mythology story line. This awesome title takes you through many mind bending levels and you will encounter may mythical figures including : Cycolps, Medusa, Mintaur and many more beast along the way. Oh and don't forget the huuuuge Gods that you will face, these bosses will make your jaw drop Your main character of the game is a God called Kratos and you are armed with two awesome blades that are wrapped around his arms, perfect ... In short, this is the best game to ever surface on the PS2, and a suitable swansong to say goodbye to the venerable old beast! Picking up the role of Kratos, from the first game and following his betrayal by, and eventual revenge upon the gods of Olympus. The graphics are even better than the first game, which was excellent in itself, and with a host of new opponents and locations to fight your way through, touching on some of the most famous stories from Greek mythology. Some of the puzzles can seem a little basic, and your progress is very linear, but on the whole this does not detract too much, as this is mainly an action game. ... Read the complete review

Well… here I am with another video game review that has been on the cards for quite some time now but one that I simply did not want to write it until I had completed the game and could do it the full justice that it deserves. This game is the original GOD OF WAR for the Playstation 2… God Of War was released on the UK PS2 in the July of 2005 by Sony Computer Entertainment and sadly, I didn’t even know of its existence until last year (2006). I could go on about how much of a pity it is that I didn’t know of this game from its date of release… but I’m not going to. All I am going to say is that I’m extremely happy that it came to my attention at ... Read the complete review

God of War (GoW) is an exclusive PlayStation2 title based on Greek Mythology. It is a third-person action adventure game, released in Europe July 2005. SCEA developed and published GoW. It must be noted that this game is most definitely not for youngsters, or those easily offended. This is because GoW was granted an 18 certificate due to explicit violence, gore and nudity. We will explore the reasons why GoW is such a magnificent achievement on an aging console. --------Storyline-------- The game starts with anti-hero Kratos jumping off the highest cliff in all of Greece. We are then taken three weeks back in time to find out why Kratos would ... Read the complete review
