THE GAME

Gran Turismo 3 is for the playstation 2 only. It will never be released for the normal playstation, as it simply cannot handle the graphics.

It is officially called “Gran Turismo A-Spec” not Gran Turismo 2000 as some people still believe.

The release date is currently 22nd July for the UK - as you may already have guessed from the title.

The game was delayed because they needed more time to work on the physics. Such as modelling the downforce etc etc

A maximum of 6 cars can be on the track at any one time, as in GT1 and 2.

The weather will vary throughout the game, however only on certain tracks. I.e. Some tracks will always have rain.

GT3 can be multiplayer, however you do need 6 I=links cables, 6 TV’s, and 6 playstation 2’s………hmm maybe not then.

The rumour is true, there will be F1 cars in GT3, and these are unlocked as you progress through the game.

The Al – (Artificial intelligence) – This has been vastly improved, and was one of the main objectives when designing the new game.

One of the games new features will be an odometer – i.e. To show you how many miles you have travelled. Neat!

Licence tests – 48 tests – Basically the same as before.

You will be able to play in wide-screen mode..

And GT3 does support surround sound, which is nice if you’ve got a good speaker setup.

The garage will now hold 200 cars, thanks to the improved storage on the new PSX2 memory card.

GT3 will be fully dual shock 2 compatible, and the first UK relea
se game to make use of the analogue buttons. I.e. The harder u press the accelerator, the faster u will go.

There still isn’t the option of a clutch. :( Maybe next time :(

There is no visible car damage.thanks to some car manufacturers, not wanting to see there products ripped to shreds. Understandable really.


THE CARS

There will be approx. 190 cars on GT3. A lot less than the previous versions, but then again they will look better.

The cars that will be available in GT 3 or as follows, if your favourite one is not there that it is tough I’m afraid !

SUMMARY

All in all I would say hold on to your seats when 22nd July arrives, GT3 is going to rock the gaming world. If you have a PSX2 this is without doubt thee game that you must own.

I’ve got mine on pre-order !!

I think the Japanese version that I have used to conduct this review doesn’t do it justice, when I have my full English version, I shall update with any changes Sony have made.
