Advantages: Gets me up in the morning, Addictive, Graphics
Disadvantages: Can't get arrested
GTA 3 is ofcourse the third of a series of amazing games. Back in 1997, what I would have called at the time the most addictive game, has come a long way over the past five years, probably due to the fact that those who created this game actually love doing it. Now GTA 3 is THE most addictive game, and I don't for some reason associate addictive games with great graphics. Usually graphics is sacraficed coz the makers can't be a**ed. Anyway, back to GTA 3. So whats all the fuss? Well for all those who were fans of the game in 1997, you've probably been wanting and waiting for a game like this. Basically, there is one GIANT city with 3 islands. Yes this game is massive, I couldn't believe how big it was when I first played, but you kinda get used to being amazed after half an hour coz I quickly realised that anything is possible in this game. Each island holds its individual characteristics one island is really rough where you can expect to be shot at if you're seen with a car worth more than 20p. This is home to many gangs, and you won't see many flashy sports cars zipping around. The second island contains normal buisness folk doing thir own thing and here, you can get access to some great cars, and the other island is even more wealthier. It doesn't really bother me as to how I make my way around the city coz either way, it's really fun. If I go by foot, I can meet pedestrians and really p*** them off simply by punshing them. Now, whats so great about this, is that each pedestrian reacts differently. Some will decide to run for their lives, others will smply shout something, others arn't so easy going and will chase you in an attempt to steal your heart so that their goldfish don't go hungry. You don't have to just settle for a punch or kick, oh no their are several weapons to choose from, including an uzi, a shotgun and the gud old fasioned flamethro
wer. This is where you can really start having fun. You can cause havok by running round the beautiful streets and shooting at anyone in your path. But don't let them get away. One way of stopping this is by using your sniper. Zoom in and shoot someone more than 100 feet away. Personally I love picking up the prozzies at night taking them to some lonely back ally, do my stuff and tell her I've got no money. If she gets annoyed, I'll just slap her one and then show her my new baseball bat. The other option is to take any car. Get in and drive around at 110mph whilst running over the pedestrians and smashing up other peoples cars. Watch out for the ramps sacattered about, these are excellent for getting away from the cops. Oh that reminds me. The cops. Yep, after killing a few kids they're likely to come looking for you, and these guys arn't to be laughed at. No, they're actually quite intelligent as they work in two's which make it quite difficult getting away. There is also a swat team. If you're looking for a little more than just wondering around aimlessly, there are loads of missions you can do whilst working for various gangs. You've gotta be careful when working for a particular gang, not to p*** off other gangs coz they'll try to kill you and will only make the missions harder. At first the missions arn't very difficult and dare I say it, that exciting, BUT, they do get a whole lot better as they become harder and more complex. There are also a few sub-missions like the 'crazytaxi' thing or if you're in an ambulance you may find yourself back on the right side of the law, helping out the sick and injured. "hang on, didn't I just run you over?". Have in said all this, the game wouldn't have been the same if the graphics wern't as good and so many minor details have been paid so much attenti
on. The sounds of the game are out of this insane world, and add to the realism of the experience. Believe me, I woke up this morning, thinking I was still on the run from the cops. Most people seem to love the radio stations coz it contains all sorts of different music. I could write some more but I gotta go and play on GTA 3. Buy it now, and you won't want anything else, not even Anna Kournikova. Well maybe.

- 29/06/02 Welcome from me too. It looks like something 'orrible happened to your formatting when you posted this opinion! It happens sometimes, but there's an option to edit it so that it looks normal again if you wish to do so. That was a really good start here, so it'd be a shame not to :o) |
