I love the Guitar Hero games and this one is great! Guitar Hero: Rock the 80's, is a great edition to the Guitar Hero name with only great songs from the 80's on the track list. This game was made in the Guitar Hero 2 style of graphics and play, so it is harder to acheive hammer ons and pull offs than on the Guitar Hero 3 game, and also the graphics arent as good (guitar hero 2 style again), you can buy this game with a guitar (which isnt cordless) for around £40, or without the guitar for around £25, note though you will need a guitar hero guitar to play, so if you havent already got one from the previous games I would advise that you get the guitar and game ... After having spent HOURS on the awesome Guitar Hero 3 : Legends of Rock, my wife bought me Guitar Hero : Rocks the 80's for christmas as quite frankly I love the 80's and everything about it ( I grew up in the 80's after all ) so this seemed a perfect fit. After loading it up you can see a difference between this and legends of rock, which after researching it is because this actually was developed by Harmonix who developed the first two games before moving on to develop Rockband, whereas Legends of Rock was developed by Neversoft. One of the first thing you notice is the game doesn't have as much of a complete game feel compared to Legends of ... Read the complete review

Perhaps it's because the 80's was when I started to take an interest in music, or perhaps it's just because the tracks on it are timeless....but this is one of my favourite Guitar Hero games! Despite the release of the full band version of Guitar Hero and it's rival Rock Band (I have both) I still go back and play this edition pretty often. It's a shame that you can't play the drums, sing, etc as a band, but some of the tracks on this disc are just so much fun to play, even if you can only play guitar in single player mode. The graphics are a bit blocky (as were the previous two editions) but everything runs smoothly and effortlessly. I ... Read the complete review

It may just be because I am a huge fan of 80's music, but I think this game rocks. I am borrowing Guitar Hero: Rocks the 80's from my sister right now and after I give it back I may just have to buy it for us. IT is that much fun to play. When I play this game, it brings back memories. The characters are dressed in the wild 80's fashions like we all remember if you grew up in that time, such as wild prints and mismatched clothes with the big hair. Songs featured on this game include Holy Diver, Seventeen, Metal Health, I Ran, and No One Like You. My favorite song is Poison's Nothing but a Good Time, but I also really enjoy playing Turning ...
