Now I dont know if being able to play guitar actually helps you play this game as I dont, but I do play piano and i have to say being able to not worry aout finger positioning when things get fast and furious seems to be a massive advantage over other players, when I did find someone who was faster then me, she also played piano. So to the game, a fairly good song list. Actually I only knew a few songs, but I found I liked quite a few more after I played them allot, like ozzy osbournes bark at t...more

Guitar Hero (PS2): Guitar Hero (192 words)

As a girl who is part of a large group of friends who are mainly into indie / rock bands and going to gigs, you can't get a better game for the PS2. I was first introduced to this game at a friends party at his house - it turned out to be the taling point of the party with people to this day, requesting he brings Gutair Hero to any party we have. I was worried when I first saw others playing it as it looks terribly complicated, yet I was surpised as after a few goes, you are well away! Its loosely based on the Dance Mat games but instead of the mat, you have the guitar. As the song belts out on the screen, a guitar is pictured and tells you what ...  Read the complete review

Amazing rhythm game (326 words)

Guitar Hero borrows the formula from the cult classic PS1 game Guitar Freaks, but adds the popular element that makes this a sure fire gaming classic. The game sees you controlling a Guitar shaped peripheral that has five coloured keys, along with a stummer which you must time correctly with the keys to perform the correct notes as the screen prescribes. Of all of the Guitar Hero games, the original still has the best set list, in my opinion - although there are far less songs, they are seemingly more focused, and less intent on pleasing EVERYONE with chart topping anthems. This game has pure rock through and through, culminating with classics such as ...  Read the complete review

Guitar Hero (PS2): Unleash your inner Hero with Guitar Hero! (279 words)

This is an absolutely brillaint video game. It's essentially an air guitar video game. Here's how it works. You have a big great plastic guitar. It isn't quite full size but it is fine for adults. It doesn't feel to small to me. You select which song you want to play from the various different songs available on the game. The song then starts to play. While it is playing coloured notes which respond to the coloured buttons on the guitar, come down the screen. At a set point on the screen you hold down the specific coloured button and then you strum the strum bar in time with the music. Daft as it sounds you can really get into the songs & playing them is ...  Read the complete review

Guitar Hero-every so often one of these games comes along that will appeal to a wide audience, or one that doesn't follow the 'rules' of a game. Everyone remembers the Dance Mat craze, and I got pretty good at it, but no other games craze suited me. Sing Star came along, but I wasn't into singing, but when I heard this was coming out, I knew it was worth a look because it was so unique. However, promising myself I wasn't going to pay more than £30 for a game this year since I want the PS3, it was a bit out of my price range, but I borrowed it from a friend and have played it a lot-more than the person I borrowed it from, and now it is on my birthday ...  Read the complete review

This review was first shown on ciao What is Guitar Hero? ************************ Guitar Hero is a great game by Harmonix, the makers of Amplitude and Frequency. In which you take the part of a guitarist, but not just the part you actualy are the guitarist, you have to press the notes and strum in time to score points and open up more songs. Sounds complicated and it is at first, but is such fun and soon becomes second nature. How does it play? ********************* I'll try to explain it to you, once you select your character, your guitar and your song you are thrown in at the deep end. You start ...  Read the complete review
