Advantages: Loads of content, every major event in the book is covered, good to play

Disadvantages: Horrible load times

Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets is an adventure game from EA games for the Playstation 2.

The storyline follows the story of the second book in J.K Rowlings Harry Potter series and has Harry being warned by a house elf not to return to Hogwarts, this journey follows his second year at the school and includes all the main events from meeting the new Defence against the Dark arts teacher Gilderoy Lockhart , buying new spell books in Diagon Alley, hiding from Malfoy in Borgin and Burkes all the way to battling the basilisk in the Chamber of Secrets.

The gameplay has been refined completely from the first game and includes an awful lot of play. You control Harry himself, you start the game with basic spells but once you have gone to Hogwarts you will pick up second year magic which allows you to power up your spells. You earn new spells by going to classes and completing a dungeon in that classroom, its not how it is done in the book but the dungeons are usually quite challenging and fun to do.

This game has the widest variety of magical spells in any Harry Potter game and you can manage them with your Remembrall, the gameplay also offers you the opportunity to play Quidditch, engage in exciting wizarding duels, sneak around the castle at night avoiding the prefects, collect chocolate frog cards and every flavour beans and explore the vast Hogwarts environment.

The only downside to this game are the load times, these are horrible every time you go through a door you are treated to a lengthy 30 second loading screen.

The game is styled after a cartoon version of Harry rather than the actor from the movies but it doesn't take away from the experience at all.

This game is a very fully featured and fun adventure which is pretty deep and rich on content, an excellent Potter game.

Summary: Harrys excellent second year at Hogwarts.
