Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire is an action game for the Playstation 2 This game is based on the fourth novel in J.K Rowlings Harry Potter series and follows Harry on his fourth year through Hogwarts school of witchcraft and wizardry. The game covers the basic plot of the film as it see's Harrys name come out from the Goblet of Fire so he is required to participate in the epic wizarding event which is called the Tri Wizard Tournament. The basic plot is covered but the game skips over many minor events and many characters are missing which is disappointing. The gameplay has been totally reworked, in this game you can play as Harry but Ron and ... Read the complete review

Its always nice to act out movies and this game was no exception. TRUTH TO MOVIE The game was very true to the movie and only added those extra bits of action and sub missions needed to pad out a game to make it long enough to be playable, most of which could easily have taken place within the plot of the movie. 5/5 COMBAT SYSTEM Each of your characters has an impressive array of spells which allow you to use strategy to decide which will be effective against which opponents, this also stops combat getting boring by providing a variety of special effects. For obvious reasons there was no mele available but a kick or two there and then would ... Read the complete review

I have been a fan of Harry Potter for a long time and have owned all of the Harry Potter games so far. What I loved about the previous 3 games was the fact that you got to explore the castle. This game however scraps that idea and instead makes this game level based. The story is pretty much this: You play as Harry Potter and his 2 friends who attend Hogwarts a school for young witches and wizzards. This year the headmaster Dumbledore has bought back an old competiton called the tri-wizard tournement and Harry has been chosen to compete. After a few cutscenes you are taken to a screen where you choose a level. Each level has different magical ... Read the complete review

This game is a bit of a mixed bag and quite different to other harry potter games. As should be obvious the game accompanies the harry potter book by the same title (or perhaps more specifically the film, because the characters in the game are based on the actors in the film series). The one player mode on this harry potter game is different to other harry potter games because it is mission based. This unfortunately means that you do not have free roam around the Hogwarts castle and I think that this really lets the game down. The addition of two or three players does help to counter act this however and this is accompanied by a somewhat better system for ... Read the complete review

Another book release will inevitably be followed by a film and the simultaneous release of a game featuring the world famous character Harry Potter. I must admit that this platform game was a welcome addition to my collection, it is not perfect but it is an entertaining and challenging game with a decent amount of life in it to keep you wanting to come back for more. The game does stick to the storyline of the film and as usual you can choose whether you play as Harry, Ron or Hermoine but the fact that they do not have any unique powers does not make your decision a major one. You will reply on a number of different spells to solve the ... Read the complete review
