Advantages: Varied locations, difficulties and length of levels

Disadvantages: No 2 player mode, some levels very difficult

I've just started going back to the Playstation 2 and getting round to playing some games that have been sat in a drawer for years, starting with this one. I remember playing the first Hitman in the series and enjoying it so was really looking forward to this one and I was not disappointed.

THE GAME
As the name suggests you are a hitman. You go through various locations performing hit's on certain targets. Many of whom are closely guarded and therefore not easy to get to.
Some missions require stealth and you may fail the mission if you make noise, set off alarms, kill civilians or kill and guards on the way.
You have various weapons in your inventory which are picked up from people you kill, found in lockers and are available in your storage shed and you are able to collect them at the start of each mission. More weapons are available to you the further you get through the game.
There are a variety of weapons including sniper rifles to shoot targets from distances, crossbows, pistols, fibrewires and knifes to quietly kill, bombs and more.

You are shown a video to help at the start of each mission. Sometimes you may be given a photo of your target and there is nearly always a map at hand to assist you. This comes in useful for spotting where the guards are and how many of them there are, on some levels the use of the map means you can avoid certain rooms to avoid being spotted. The map also has point of interest, this could be where you collect a key for a room or it could be weapons or a change of clothes to help you disguise.

You can choose to play the game from a first person or third person view.

This version of the game only lets you play a one payer story mode, you are able to choose from three difficulties. There are not many extra features as there are in other games, only a couple of videos to watch.

MORE INFORMATION
The version I have played is for the Playstation 2. The game is also available to play on PC, Xbox and Xbox 360. A platinum version is also available for PS2.
The age guidance on the game is 16+, which I would say is a suitable rating for the game. Players a bit younger would have no problem with the difficulty of the game, it is just due to the violent nature of the game that it wouldn't be recommended for those younger, the killings aren't as graphic or gory as they are in some games so I wouldn't personally have a problem giving it to someone under 16 (I'd just cross my fingers they don't want to grow up to be a hitman).

COST
This game cost around £40 new, although I managed to pick mine up for around £5 in a used game store. The game is available online for £11.49 including delivery. I think it is worth this amount as it will keep you entertained for quite a while and isn't one you'd complete in a day or two.

OVERALL
I thoroughly enjoyed playing this game and found the range of different locations for each mission stops the game from getting repetitive with a wide range of scenes such as hotels, deserts, office buildings and streets.
To complete the game in story mode took me a couple of weeks to finish as some levels were difficult and took plenty of attempts to complete. The good thing is that you can save in the middle of a level so if you feel like you have got quite far in the level it is worth saving so you don't have to repeat all your actions again.
I would definitely recommend this game as I really enjoyed playing it and considering it is now an old game the graphics are of good quality in comparison with some other PS2 games.

Summary: A good game with good graphics for the time it was brought out.
