Advantages: A realistic Jurassic Park experience, plenty of replayability, good graphics,

Disadvantages: Lacking in story mode .... Thats all!

===INTRODUCTION===

Simulation games have often been a favorite among people that like to create their own things. Some of the most famous simulation games of all time are ones such as the likes of "The Sims" and "Theme Park". One unique conception that came to pass however was Jurassic Park: Operation Genesis, which featured classic sim-like features from theme-park, yet in the world of Jurassic Park. Basically, you create your own Jurassic Park, every detail from the trees, island shape and the dinosaurs, and run it! Every Jurassic Park fans dream can now come alive!

===STORY: 7/10===

The story basically follows you. You can play two modes; the story, which follows a first person view where you have to roam around and carry out certain tasks, or the free mode, which enables you to freely build your own park. When you build your own park, you do so under the guidance of John Hammond and other characters from all 3 films; your goal is to create a 5-star park which appeals to four different kinds of audiences that visit your park.

In general, the story is very basic. Operation Genesis focuses mainly on the aspect of graphics and gameplay over the need of a story, and it works wonders in doing so.

===GRAPHICS: 10/10===

I personally found the graphics to be simply amazing on Operation Genesis; from the texture of the waters to the waving of the trees. The most amazing feature aas the dinosaurs however. The way they interact with each other is sometimes a mystery. Some of them like each other, some of them don't, but each one has unique animations, styles and textures whether they are grazing, sleeping, or if you are feeling a bit morbid, eating your visitors.

===GAMEPLAY: 9/10===

Jurassic Park: Operation Genesis features the most interactive and in-depth gameplay that I have personally ever played. From the simple ways of creating your park with ease, you are able to research and uncover fossil DNA in order to bring over 20 dinosaurs back to life from the gentle herbivores to the violent carnivores, it is all up to you!

You are able to maneuver freely and watch your dinosaurs roam, fight, feed and live their lives, or you can take to the skies in your chopper for various reasons including healing your dinosaurs of disease, putting them to sleep or killing them if they become aged or injured beyond help.

The dinosaurs have unique interaction methods and unique personalities for each dinosaur which is new every time you play. This is something that was not elaborated during the game's release, yet something that was bought to attention by fans of the game that opened up unofficial studies on the game. Some reports include the T-Rex making friends with herbivores, T-Rex and Spinosaurus becoming hunting partners as well as many more; it is a unique experience to say the least, and studies are still going on and uncovering more mysteries also!

You are also able to shut your park with visitors in it and then let your dinosaurs roam free. You know what happens next, right? Especially when a hungry T-Rex or pack of Veloci-raptors meet your unsuspecting visitor roaming around. Need I say any more?

The only flaw in the gameplay is the fact that you can only unlock three dig sites at once. This means your dino breeds are limited compared to the PC version which can be tweeked and modded to allow you access to all breeds of dinosaurs at all times. However, this small aspect does not hinder gameplay at all and simply adds more replayability in my opinion.

===MUSIC: 6/10===

The music in general is sparing, changing for events such as hurricanes, outbreaks or dinosaur rampages. However, the music that remains matches the setting depending on the weather. It is very effective and adds a lot to your park.

===OVERALL:10/10===

Operation Genesis is one of my all-time favorite games. Never before have I experience such freedom in a simulation game; it lets you actually live in your own park so to speak, and the unlimited personalities of the dinosaurs and their surroundings is a simple mystery, yet one, along with the unlimited gameplay features that come with creating your park, make this game one that you will want to play over and over again. It is simply an amazing experience, a perfect score for a perfect game!

Summary: Perfect simulation experience - with man eating dinosaurs, and cute ones :)
