Advantages: Great fun with friends

Disadvantages: Not the original artists

If you are a big fan of karaoke then this is a great game to get your hands on although be aware that you do need to have a microphone be able to play the game or headset. What you do get though is 30 songs to sing along to across a wide range of musical styles however do be aware that you are not getting the original artists to listen to but an imitation version just like Stars in Your Eyes.

The range of songs is pretty good with stuff from REM, Madonna and UB40 to name a few and most of these songs are real classics that you will be aware of.

The objective of the game is to sing along to the songs earning points or grades for whether you hit the right notes and pitch, for those who tend to murder a song rather than enhance it there are different difficulty levels with the easier of which relaxing the judging somewhat so that you can see yourself progressing. As with a lot of these games you are monitored on pitch and tone rather than actually singing the right words which can mean making any sound in the right pitch or tone will earn you points.

To help you the words on the screen appear larger or smaller to denote when you need to hit the high or low notes in case you cannot take the hint from the music or only vaguely know the song and the length of the line tells you how long to hold the note.

Visually the game is nothing special and you can choose from a number of backgrounds none of which are that great, this is a sound game not a visual one and to be honest the sound quality and reproduction of the songs is excellent.

Playing this game on your own may be advisable in the outset but the real fun to be had is to get a few friends around and crack open the booze and then I can be a lot of fun and well worth getting.

Summary: Great singing game

Think I had better stay clear of this. JPEG
